Sign - Noorderlicht 2005
In Galerie Sign, Groningen, we built a lounge inside a pinhole camera during the Noorderlicht Foto Manifestatie 2005. Each weekend is a lounge running on top of photopaper that covers the floor. Pinhole Lounge
2005The camera that makes the photogram is a lounge. This public space is open on the weekends for visitors to come in and feast on home-made food and drinks.

2005The camera is not fully dark inside. We keep red safety lights on to allow visitors to easily access the space.

2005The red light seems to have tremendous impact on how people experience the different kinds of food we serve. Some dishes seem to be tasteless inside the camera restaurant whereas outside they seem fine.

2005The print is put back in the room after devloping. Visitors will walk on the photogram to see the image through the whole space.

2005A view on one of the 27 sq. meter photograms that are made in the lounge. The biggest impression that people leave behind is their handprints. The oils from the skin leave a layer on the photopaper that blocks the chemicals from developing the paper.
